The Job Stacking Guidebook

Why Having Two LinkedIn Profiles Is A Great Idea
Hey, welcome to the first edition of our new Job Stacking Newsletter!
I’ve been kicking around this idea for a long, long time: what if we could distill the value of Job Stacking in easy to read bursts?
We’ve already had a lot of success on our Youtube channel (which you’re welcome to check out as well, obviously), but I believe members of our program should get access to this information in the way they prefer.
So, if you’re looking for a raise, trying to find a safer way to work multiple jobs, or even just to understand how Job Stacking functions - then this is for you.
But enough introductions, let’s get cracking on our first edition.
Why Having Two LinkedIn Profiles is a Great (And Safe) Idea
When job hunting, people typically use LinkedIn for one obvious reason: it’s an easy to use tool to send out resumes, as well as a “simple” way to get discovered. The issues for many arise when they ask themselves one simple question: “What if my company finds out I’m looking for a job?”
This, among other typical challenges such as embellishing information, normally make people wary of using the best tool they have for job hunting.
The reality of it all is, companies aren’t typically hiring private detectives to find out everything that you do. After all, we’re not celebrities or essential cogs in a machine.
Here’s a tip: Turn off your profile notifications. That is, to make it so that no one sees when you’ve updated your info, deleted an old job, or changed your resume. That way, your changes remain private, while still being available for search engines.
Okay, But What If I Want To Switch Jobs Without Alerting My Employers?
That’s where the benefit of having Two LinkedIn Profiles comes from.
If you create a secondary profile, while leaving the main one as a sort of “anchor” profile, you open yourself up to loads of possibilities and benefits.
On one hand, you can make radical changes on your second profile without affecting the validity of the first. You can AB test for different positions at the same company - imagine having double the opportunities in the job market - while also avoiding the usual fear of having your company find out about your interests.
Okay, but how do we actually do it? It’s a very simple process to tackle, but it requires constant nurturing. Think of essential, basic stuff like:
- Using different names (but using a real profile picture): Think of nicknames, second names, abbreviations, etc.
- Sending out requests to people “Open for Work”: This sets a precedent on your profile that makes it attractive to recruiters, regardless if you actually know the people in question.
- Same thing for “Hiring” profiles: The idea is to create about 40 connections of normal people looking for jobs, and then start chasing recruiters.
Once you’ve created and verified a secondary profile, you are essentially doubling your chances to find a new job. While the rest of the people are busy staying low in order to avoid an imaginary threat of secret private investigators out to expose them, you’ll be busy actually making changes that matter.
And that’s a wrap on our first edition!
We’ll be delivering this Newsletter every two weeks, bringing you the best blueprints for maximizing your work hours and increasing your income. I’m trying to also be more present with the community this year, so if you want me to answer a more specific question regarding job applications or your journey, remember to simply write back to me or try setting up a call.
Until next time,

Rolf.
